Happy Wednesday everyone. The office is near completion… or is it? Do you ever work on a project and self doubt, and wonder if you’ve made the right choice? Well not going to lie I’m kind of going through that.
Prior to working on the office everything, including the furniture in the room was white. And I hadn’t taken much thought into how much the indirect sunlight casts multiple shadows throughout the room. And with the darker cabinets and dark floors and the warmth from the walls. It’s made me ponder if the room is pulling moodier than I had intended.
Here’s what it’s currently looking like. If you follow along on Instagram, you would have seen some of this content already. But to wrap it all up I realised I wasn’t that into the white hardware. I had thought about spray painting them to a flat matte but didn’t want to rush into it until I had the counters in.
Now with everything installed I came to the decision that I wanted to go ahead with spray painting them. I had some of this spray paint lying around and figured it would be okay to use after reading a little about it.
They’ve made such a dramatic difference to the space and I love how it turned out!
Now back to the paint. Not going to lie, it’s disapointing to have those doubtful feelings. If I do go ahead with re-painting it will be more work and delay the project.
So I’ve gone on to searching for re-assurance. Here’s the photo I was inspired by to begin with, and a few I found recently that have similarities.
These three spaces are beautiful, and do help me feel more confident in the direction the room is currently going into. But I still have my reservations. Don’t get me wrong the room looks great, something just doesn’t feel right.
My next plan is to dress up the room a little before making any decisions. I want to be confident and I need to rule out all other variables before committing to repainting.
