Hello everybody, welcome back!
It’s been a short while since my last Monday Musings post and I am back full swing with a ton of random thoughts to share with you!
Awhile ago I shared on IG how I was making my box corner cushion for our oversized window seat and have taken a seriously pause on that corner since. The truth is- I am a paint job, a DIY and three purchases away from completing the corner. I often tell you I want to embrace the progress but I have such a hard time with that sometimes! I can see this corner of our home complete and I know it’s in near sight. So what are those steps keeping me from posting?
DIY on these pretty Ikea Ribba 20×20″ frames. These frames were insanely reasonable in price which made for the perfect opportunity to DIY. But what that DIY is? I’ll share in a future post.
I have an abundance of cushion inserts and not enough covers! With all the progress on our bedroom I am having to start thinking of the styling process. I’ve just added a lot more hunting and DIY to my list of to-dos!
Here are the pulls I’ve been eyeing for months for the cabinetry. The current ones are 5 1/16″ which proportionally are too small for the width of the cabinetry. I am just smitten for these 7″ pulls and know they will be the perfect jewelry to finish off the cabinetry.
A swoon worthy task light to tie the space together. This nook screams for a lamp of some sorts. While this may not be the final option, I may go with one of these to keep costs down. Let me know in the comments which one you like the best!
Finally- two major set backs to this nook. Paint and replacing the current window treatments. The current blinds aren’t the worst, aside from a few pesky stains I can’t seem to clean out of them. They are just a bit awkward for such a picturesque window. We would love to replace them and have them matching our other one that is directly up stairs but this is definitely something that’ll come with time and patience as it’ll be the priciest item to check off the list.
When CLJ tackled their guest room and painted the room Down Pipe by Farrow & Ball I was just in awe at how well it paired with their headboard. And if you haven’t pieced the two together, it’s the same fabric I used for our bench nook! I originally wanted to paint the cabinetry to match our trim in the space but this reveal is making me sway opinions. I am officially obsessed with the tone on tone approach!
- I just recently found our that Burke Decor ships to Canadians! Even their funiture (reasonably as long as it is under 40lbs) and I am so pleasantly surprised! As you know us Canadians have trouble finding variety in retailers that’ll ship to us so this is a huge win in my books!
- My friend Lisa of Composto Fiori shared a recent recommendation I suggested to her on her feed! This coffee table book seemed so fitting for her and looks absolutely incredible styled next to one of her beautiful arrangements! For more swoon worthy florals and still life pictures head to her feed here, and her website here. And for more finds check out my LikeToKnow.it here! I appreciate her so much, and you friends so much for your continued support!
