A Mcgee & Co. Look For Less Bedroom

Sometimes I browse around my favourite designers online at store like McGee & co just to throw things in my cart and admire them. Especially being Canadian some stores just economically don’t make sense once the exchange rate and shipping charges are calculated. I often can’t afford to make the purchase so I challenge myself on a little hunt to deep dive the web in hopes of finding dupes so I can get the look for less in my own home. This time- I even found a DIRECT IDENTICAL dupe that’ll equal up to a savings of around 230$. You heard that right, sorry Shea!

Here’s a dreamy bedroom design with pieces all linked up through McGee & co.

headboard // nightstand // rug // dresser // table lamp // task lamp // abstract // small oil painting // larger oil painting // stool

This room with everything linked above but doubling the nighstand and task lamp to complete the space will land you at a whopping $11,168 usd (without shipping and taxes) and that doesn’t even include your linens, bedframe, mattress w/boxspring, a hardwired light fixture and any other decor!

And this equally dreamy one, is totally the look for less.

headboard // nightstand // hardware // rug // dresser // table lamp // task lamp // abstract // small oil painting // larger oil painting // stool

This room with everything linked above but doubling the nighstand and task lamp to complete the space will land you at only around $1,000 usd (including about 5 yards of fabric, not including any DIY materials or any of those necessary items needed like linens to complete the space). But, even then that’s one heck of a deal friends!

Now some aspects of this design you’ll have to put in some elbow grease to get your design as close as possible to the McGee & co look but here’s some blog posts from my fellow blogger community that’ll surely help you DIY your space to look just like this one, using all the pieces and materials linked above.

DIY headboard using the EXACT fabric as the lovely McGee & co headboard pictured above.

DIY found stool using these nearly identical stools as the McGee & co ones.

You may be wondering, that nightstand isn’t the same one pictured above? It actually is, I included a link to some pretty un-lacqured brass hardware to manually add yourself to get that look as close as possible, as cheap as possible!

So what do you think friends, it’s quite similar isn’t it?! If you like this sort of post be sure to let me know and maybe I’ll whip up a few more of these in the future. I’m forever looking for dupes for our own home. It’s only right I pass them along!
